VIII. SUFFERING TRANSFORMED
The Hardship That Deepens Faith
God has allowed you to suffer much hardship. This is honest. The psalm doesn’t pretend that faith eliminates difficulty. Instead, it acknowledges that suffering is real—and that God permits it. The question isn’t whether you’ll face hardship, but what you’ll do with it.
A life of faith doesn’t mean a life without pain. It means a life where pain becomes the context for deepening trust. Every hardship you survive becomes evidence that God is faithful. Every crisis you navigate becomes a testimony to others. Every moment you choose to trust despite circumstances becomes a stone in the foundation of your faith.
Things to think about:
How has suffering deepened your faith rather than destroyed it?
What has God taught you through hardship?
